Plant Requests - What You Need to Know

Not many nurseries do this, but we do take requests for plants. There's been some confusion about how this process works, so here's what you need to know.

  • When you put in a request, IT IS NOT the same thing as a special order. We cannot guarantee that we can get a plant for you. Nor can we guarantee a date when that plant might be here.

  • There are a lot of factors involved: how much inventory growers have in stock, whether we have a large enough order to meet the grower's minimum for delivery, weather conditions, time of year, etc. Some items, such as roses, are ordered only once a year. We order, almost a year ahead, what we think we will sell and when our inventory runs out, we can't get any more that year.

  • Several people on our staff are responsible for buying items (from multiple vendors). When we fill out a request slip for you, it will be given to the appropriate buyer. Buyers review requests, check with growers to see if those items are available, and if so, they add the requested items to the next order.

  • When the order comes in, the buyer will pull your item(s), put them in our holding area, and call you to let you know that the plant is here. Our buyers are really good about keeping track and calling people, so if you haven't heard back from us, it is because we haven't been able to find what you are looking for. We aren't ignoring you - honest!

  • We cannot take requests for one or two annuals. We will take requests for complete flats.

  • Thank you for your understanding. This is a crazy, busy time of year.
