We Have Potatoes, Garlic, Shallots and Onion Sets for Fall Planting

We've had perfect weather lately for working in the garden. So while it lasts, come in and get what you need to get your fall-winter garden planted.

If you usually plant potatoes in spring, you might be surprised that we have seed potatoes this time of year. However, this article, from Backwoods Home Magazine, explains the advantages of fall planting: better root development, resistance to damage from spring cold snaps and earlier harvest. Our seed potatoes are certified organic from Irish Eyes Garden Seeds in Ellensburg, Washington. They are a Yukon gold hybrid, noted for disease resistance and high yields.

Fall is a good time to plant garlic and we have many varieties to choose from - all $10.98/lb. Try any of the following:

  • Elephant garlic

  • German Red

  • Italian early

  • Italian late

  • Inchilium Red

  • Nootka Rose

  • Silver Rose

  • Spanish Roja

If you are looking for shallots, we have Dutch Red and Holland Yellow, also $10.98/lb.

And we have four kinds of onion sets to choose from: White Ebenezer, Red Wethersfield, Yellow Rock and Holland Red. They're $4.98 a package.

To round out your fall garden, we have starts of kale, cauliflower, asparagus, artichokes, chard, horseradish and select herbs. Come see us!
