Many of our young neighbors rely on school lunches for nutrition. But what happens in summer, when school is closed? We wanted to find a way to help.
We reached out to our friends at the West Seattle Food Bank for suggestions. They told us that many kids make their own meals during the summer while their caretakers are at work, and they sent us a list of items for "Kids Can Make It" meals. Everything on the list is easy to prepare and shelf-stable, so no refrigeration is needed. Please help us collect food for our neighborhood kids.
